Hi, I’m Maija the owner and operator of Sage Cleaning Services.

Sage Cleaning Services was officially founded in 2021, but my journey into this kind of work started long before that. As a teenager, I began doing lawn care and cleaning jobs around my community because I wanted to earn my own money and help people at the same time. What started as simple side jobs slowly became something I genuinely loved.

Over the years, I found myself continuing to work in cleaning, property upkeep, and caregiving roles because I realized how much I value helping people feel more comfortable, supported, and less overwhelmed in their everyday lives.

Now at 23 years old, I’m a mother of two boys, a college student, and someone who has spent the last several years working in healthcare alongside building this business. I also went to school for office administration, where I learned more about business operations, organization, communication, and what it takes to successfully run and grow a business long term.

Between my education and real world work experience, I’ve learned a lot about professionalism, consistency, customer relationships, and creating systems that help both clients and businesses thrive. I’m currently continuing my education in psychology, which has only deepened my understanding of people, communication, and the importance of creating supportive environments.

My healthcare background also taught me a lot about trust, reliability, compassion, and showing up for people during stressful or busy seasons of life. I’ve carried those same values into Sage Cleaning Services.

To me, this business has never just been about cleaning. A home is where life happens. It’s where families gather, where people rest after long days, where kids grow up, and where people should feel safe and comfortable. Sometimes having help maintaining that space can make a bigger impact than people realize.

My goal has always been to create a service that feels personal, reliable, and grounded. I care deeply about building long term relationships with clients and creating a business people feel comfortable inviting into their homes and properties.

Today, Sage Cleaning Services provides recurring residential cleaning, Airbnb turnovers, rental and move out cleans, light commercial cleaning, and outdoor upkeep throughout the Greater Lansing area. I’m proud to continue growing a business that’s rooted in consistency, community, and genuine care for the people I work with.
